How to open a swimming pool
Remove the winter net or canvas. Clean it with the product that will also protect it.
Remove leaves/debris from the bottom as quickly as possible as this is what makes the water green.
If the water level is too low, raise it.
Replace the caps of:
- Filtered
- Pump
- Water heater
- Chlorinator
Put back on the filter:
- Manometer
- Bottle
- Cork
Reconnect the pipes of:
- Pump
- Filtered
- Water return
- Water heater
- Chlorinator
- Skimmer
- Bottom drain
Remove from the skimmer:
- Foam
- Corks
- Blood sausage
Then put back:
- Door
- Basket
Replace the pump basket.
Put the light bulbs back in.
Inground pools: Remove the return plugs and replace them (rings if Jacuzzi) and eyes (towards the bottom and on the side to circulate the water in 1 direction, going around the pool).
All that remains is to fill the pump with water (open the valve if necessary) and start the pump.
If you have to remove leaves from the bottom, do it as soon as possible, even if you can't see anything, because that's what makes the water green. Don't think about clearing it up so you can see the bottom and then pick it up. The chemicals will just make the leaves like paste, which is even harder to pick up.
Once all the leaves have been collected, it is time to make a list of what products you have left and how much. A complete water analysis will reveal what exactly your water needs, what you are lacking and what you already have.
It is necessary to balance the water well:
- Total alkalinity
- pH
Next comes the opening kit.
Depending on the water test result, you will have further steps to take, then start chlorinating 24 hours after opening the kit.
NB: An easy opening starts with a closing with balanced water, a closing kit that will act in the spring and the absence of leaves in the water.
